Send Out Cards to Network Your Home Based Greeting Card Business
The other day I went to a local Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting. It’s always a great place to make connections. I meet new people, catch up with clients, networking buddies, business associates, and distributors on my team. So on this day, when I got back to my home office, here’s a list of the cards I sent out after attending the breakfast:
1) A humorous “Congratulations” card to a business associate who won a door prize of “Free Coaching” (very funny – no one in the room needed it more although he will probably never use it).
2) I won a door prize of tickets to a sporting event and sent a “Thank You” card.
3) “It was nice meeting you” cards went out to two women sitting at my table who I met for the first time. One of them actually enrolled in my program within a few days.
4) Another “Thank You” to a Chamber staff person who told me she recommended me to a newspaper reporter writing an article about my industry.
5) A note of apology for being late with keeping a promise to do a volunteer job at the Chamber office (with the most adorable sad puppy dog face you ever saw on the front).
As you can see, there are typically more opportunities to send out cards to people to say “I’m thinking of you”, “You’re important to me”, “Thank you”, “Congratulations”, etc. than one has time for. And just think how every one of them will feel when they receive my heartfelt, personalized greeting card in their mailbox! Make their day… it feels good and it comes back to you!

Hi Tari
I’m a new Send Out Cards distributor and I have found lots of useful information on your site – thanks for sharing your ideas. I wanted to send this by email but could find no other way to contact you other than by leaving a comment so here’s my question: do you have any ideas for how I can introduce SOC to other parents at my son’s daycare?
Thank you.
Chichi
Hi Chichi,
Thank you for your comments – your feedback is valuable and appreciated. Here are some ideas for you to get started:
1) Send cards to the daycare – ideally with pictures.
Can you get pics of your son AT daycare?
There are lots of opportunities to send them cards:
*Holidays – traditional and non-traditional
*We have a pic of our daughter in a paper bunny suit made at daycare (photo taken at home)
*Thank you for all you do
*Picture of a landmark that they helped with…. learning to walk, to write, to tie shoes, etc. with a thank you. I’m sure you get the drift, Chichi.
I would probably send a card once a month.
Of course the purpose is to show appreciation for them – and you’re showing off the program.
Ideally get the daycare enrolled!
2) Send cards to other parents
If you don’t have addresses – tell them you want to send them a picture of their child. Then Get take a pic of their child to put on front of a card. This could be at a play date outside of school.
3) Invite them to a “home party” at your house to show SOC.
If this is of interest I can provide more info on the logistics another time.
Again – if you could catch the interest of the daycare – this should be a “no-brainer” if they’re looking to grow their business. This could be a revenue source for them. I’d say that’s the BEST way to go.
Hope this is helpful, Chichi. Thanks again and please let me know if I can help further!
